MAIL ONLINE - WANT TO SHIFT YOUR END-OF-WINTER BLUES? STUDIES HAVE SHOWN THAT KNITTING CAN CURE DEPRESSION - and even Ryan Gosling is a fan. This article epitomises how tabloid papers take a research finding and then put their own spin on it! Our Stitchlinks/Cardiff University study found that 81% of respondents to our survey who suffered from clinical depression felt happier during and after knitting. 54% said that they felt happy or very happy. That is brilliant but it does not equate to curing depression. When Betsan set up Stitchlinks, she predicted future senationalist headlines which is why one of the aims of Stitchlinks is to provide you with accurate information.
