May 2010 - Be part of a Guinness World Record attempt to knit the longest scarf with Hall for Cornwall. Cilck here for details.
May 2010 - A knitting survey compiled by us, Dr von Hecker and Dr Jill Riley from Cardiff University will go live online on June 21st 2010. It has successfully negotiated ethical clearance and is currently being tested. Links will be posted on the Stitchlinks website and on Ravelry.
May 2010 - Tickets for this year's I Knit Weekender are on sale now. We'll be there so please come along to say hello. We're looking forward to it. Click here for more details.
May 2010 - The Cardiff University study on the effect of knitting on memory is due to start on June 2nd at the School of Psychology in Cardiff. We need to find 90 knitters who would be willing to travel to Cardiff to give an hour and a half of their time. If you are interested in helping out, please contact Betsan to book a time slot.
May 2010 - Stitchlinks member Sue Leach and her mother Shirley hold their cross stitched wildlife exhibition throughout May at the Attenborough Nature Reserve, Visitor Centre, Barton Lane, Nottingham NG9 6DY. Visit www.attenboroughnaturecentre.co.uk or call 0115 972 1777 for details. Wildlife artist Pollyanna Pickering will give two talks, one on 1st and another on 29th May to accompany the exhibition.
May 2010 - iknitlinks has got together with Mencap and The Knitter Magazine to raise money for Mencap. Click here for details.
April 2010 - Stitchlinks had a stand at the British Pain Society's Annual Scientific meeting. The response from pain professionals was overwhelming, so we will be working with these doctors, nurses, physios, OT and psychologists to set up knitting groups to help people manage long-term pain.
March 2010 - Pain News, the British Pain Society's (BPS) quarterly publication has featured an article on our work so far. It's entitled A Stitch in Time can save.... (How knitting may help in the management of long-term conditions). This magazine goes out to all pain specialists who are members of the BPS so it's a great step in the right direction for us.
